Accessibility statement
Bordværkstedet wants everyone to be able to shop here, including people who use a keyboard instead of a mouse, a screen reader, screen magnification or other assistive technology.
The standard this shop works towards
This shop runs on Specify, an e-commerce platform whose storefront is built towards the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA — the level the European standard EN 301 549 refers to.
That is a target, not a certificate. The shop has not been audited against it by an independent party, so it does not claim to meet the standard in full.
What is in place
- Buttons and links show a clear focus ring when you move through the page with a keyboard.
- Every picture the shop uploads carries a text description for screen readers, or is marked as decoration so that a screen reader skips it.
- The shop's colours are checked against the WCAG contrast ratios when they are chosen.
- Animation is reduced when your device asks for reduced motion.
- Each page states the language it is written in, so that a screen reader reads it with the right voice.
Known limitations
- The shop has not been tested from end to end with a screen reader.
- Text, pictures and documents the shop adds itself — product descriptions, photographs, PDFs — are only as accessible as they were made, and not all of them can be checked automatically.
- Payment may take place in a payment provider's own form, which follows that provider's accessibility.
